Bulwark Sol Privacy Policy
Effective 1 October 2026.
Who we are
Bulwark Sol is made by Joel Henning Axel Roos, an individual developer (sole trader), Argogatan 4, 211 18 Malmö, Sweden ("we", "us"). We are the controller of the personal data described on this page. You can reach us at roozingol@gmail.com.
The short version
- We collect what the game needs to keep your account and purchases, to fix crashes, and to understand how the game is played.
- We never see your payment details. Apple handles payment.
- Ads come from Google AdMob. Google gets your advertising identifier only if you allow tracking when iOS asks.
- You can switch usage data off in Settings, and you can delete your account inside the game.
- We do not sell your data.
What we collect and why
1. Your game account
On first launch the game creates a random install ID. Our server links it to a player ID and keeps the game data that belongs to your account: your wallet (Gems, Credits, Honours), purchases, Commanders, and your alliance membership with the alliance name and callsign you choose. If you sign in to Game Center, we also keep your Game Center player ID so you can get your account back on a new device.
With your account we also keep a few technical labels about the copy of the game you play: the app build, the device model, the iOS version, whether it is a test build (TestFlight) or the App Store version, how many times it has signed in, and when it was first and last seen. We use them to support you, to tell test players apart from real ones, and to fix problems on specific devices. They are deleted with your account.
Why: to run the game you asked for. Kept: until you delete your account.
2. Purchases
Apple processes every payment. We never receive your card details, name or address. When you buy something, Apple sends us a signed record of the transaction. Our server checks the record and stores the product, the transaction ID, the date and your player ID, so that each purchase is credited exactly once. We also receive Apple's notices of refunds.
Why: to deliver what you bought, and to meet our legal duties. Kept: while your account exists. Records the law requires us to keep are kept for as long as it requires (seven years under the Swedish Bookkeeping Act).
3. Gameplay analytics (usage data)
The game records:
- how long you play
- how missions start and end (mission, difficulty, waves, hull, stars)
- how many ships you place, upgrade and sell
- tutorial steps
- research started
- when the store is opened
- which Commander you choose
- whether you play or skip story scenes
- settings you change
- purchases (product and price)
These events are stored under a pseudonymous key, a keyed one-way code, instead of your player ID. We do not store your IP address or install ID with them, and nothing links them back to you.
Why: to balance and improve the game (our legitimate interest). Kept: 400 days, then deleted automatically. Your choice: Settings → Usage data → off. This stops collection and deletes any events that have not been sent yet.
4. Crash reports and diagnostics
When the game crashes or catches an error, it records:
- where in the game's code it happened
- the kind of error
- the app version, device model and iOS version
- performance figures such as frame rate and loading time
Crash reports are stored under the same pseudonymous key as usage data, never under your player ID. Your choice: Settings → Crash reports → off. This stops recording and deletes any report that has not been sent yet.
Why: to find and fix bugs (our legitimate interest). Kept: 90 days, then deleted automatically.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game offers optional rewarded videos. You choose to watch one in exchange for an in-game reward. The videos are served by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited in the EEA, UK and Switzerland).
To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google receives your IP address, information about your device and the app, and how you interact with the ad. Google receives your advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking when iOS asks (App Tracking Transparency). If you say no, it does not. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, Google's consent message also asks whether Google may personalise ads, and you can change that choice later in Settings → Ad privacy choices.
Google is an independent controller of this data under its own policy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
We do not send your gameplay data to Google.
What we do not collect
We do not collect:
- your name, email address or phone number
- your contacts
- your location
- your photos
- health data
- your browsing history
This version has no chat, so there are no messages to collect.
Who we share data with
- Google Cloud hosts our server and database (in the EU: europe-north1, Finland). It acts as our processor.
- Apple processes payments and Game Center.
- Google AdMob serves ads, as described above.
We do not sell or rent personal data. Where a provider processes data outside the EEA, the transfer is covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Deleting your account
In the game, go to Settings → Account → Delete account. This deletes your player account and the data linked to it on our server, including your wallet, your purchase records (except any the law requires us to keep) and your alliance membership. Analytics are stored under a pseudonymous key that cannot be traced back to you, and they expire within 400 days. Deleting the app removes the game's data from your device.
Deleting your account does not refund purchases. For refunds, contact Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you cannot get into the game, email roozingol@gmail.com from any address and include your player ID if you have it.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- see the data we hold about you, and have it corrected
- have it deleted
- restrict how we use it, or object to our using it (including the analytics)
- take a copy of it with you
To use any of these rights, email roozingol@gmail.com. You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY, imy.se) or to the authority where you live.
Children
Bulwark Sol is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child under 13 has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). It is stored with Google Cloud, which encrypts data at rest. Only the people who run the game can access the server.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date. If the change is significant, we will also say so in the game.
